What is the shipping time frame on an order?
Our standard shipping time on Old West rigs in the plain, border & basketweave finish is about 2 weeks (7-10 working days). Hand-tooled rigs usually ship in 3 weeks and custom rigs will ship in 4-8 weeks depending on how many custom rigs are in line ahead of you.

If I choose expedited shipping (next day/2nd day) will my order be shipped the same day?
If the item is in stock, and the order is received before 12:00 P.M. (CST), the order will be shipped the same day, the following day for orders received after 12:00 P.M. If the item is not in stock it will be shipped 3-4 weeks from the day you place the order using the shipping method selected.

How much is 2nd Day and Next Day air shipping?
Depending on the package weight and destination address, express shipping usually runs between $25-60.

Why does it take so long to ship an order?
When you take into account that we manufacture about 30 different style rigs, in 3 different colors and 3 different finishes combined with the many different handguns made and belt sizes, it is not feasible to keep an inventory on hand. Therefore, when you place your order, your rig is created for specifically for you.
It does not actually take 4-6 weeks to create a rig, however, all orders are made up in the order they are received. Some days there may only be 10-15 orders ahead of yours, but on other days, there may be up to 50 rigs ahead of yours on the factory list.

How will I know when my order will be shipped?
If you place your order online, you will receive an automated response which shows the current shipping times for that time of year. Although the automated email states delivery is 4-6 weeks away, once the order is printed and processed, one of our clerks will send you a second email with a better time frame.
If you place the order by phone, the sales rep that takes your order will let you know the current shipping time for the item(s) you are ordering.

What if I need the item by a particular date? For example a birthday…will I receive the item in time?
If the item you are ordering is for a gift (ex: birthday, anniversary, Christmas), we will do our best to get the item to you in time. Depending on the item ordered and the time frame given, we may need to upgrade the shipping to 2nd Day or Next Day Air, but we will certainly do our best to get the item to you in time.

What kind of leather is used to make the holsters?
All of our products are created using only the finest American leather. The holsters are constructed of 8 ounce leather, the belts are made of 9 ounce leather and the 4 ounce suede is used in the lined versions.

Are all of your Old West rigs lined?
Yes, all of our rigs are lined.
The competitive rigs Colt MacAllister, Graveyard Rig, Handlebar Doc, Idaho John, Lead Dispencer, Long Hunter, Tequila Rig and Lady Tequila have suede lined belts with smooth leather lined holsters. The remaining rigs in our line have suede lined holsters and belts.

Can I upgrade a suede lined rig to smooth leather lined?
Yes, all of our rigs can be upgraded to smooth leather lined version. A $25 custom work fee is added to the price.

Do you make holsters for the Schofield? …Ruger Bearcat?
Yes, all of our rigs are available for these guns at no extra charge.

Do you make holsters for double action revolvers?
All of our rigs are available for double action revolvers. We also make holsters for hard to find guns such as the Freedom Arms Casull, Taurus Raging Bull and Cap & Ball revolvers.

Do you make left handed rigs?
Yes! All of our rigs are available I left handed configurations at no extra charge.

How do I determine what belt size to order?
Due to different body types and to the fact that everyone seems to wear their rig a bit differently, we ask that you submit two separate measurement when placing your order.

First, we will need to know your jean/pant size.

Second, we will need you to take an *actual measurement at the point which you will be wearing the rig. To determine the actual measurement, you should wrap a tape measure around yourself as if it were the rig. The tape measure should be taut enough that it does not fall off your sides, but not so tight that it digs into your clothing.

If this is your first rig and require additional help in determining the belt size, feel free to give us a call and we will go over the information with you.

Do you make belt in larger sizes?
Yes, we will make belts up to size 60”. A $25 fee is added to the price of the belt for belts over 46”.

Do you make any metal lined holsters?
No we do not carry metal lined holsters in our line.

Can I add a crossdraw holster to my rig?
Yes, a crossdraw holster can be added to any rig.

Can I add border-stamping to a plain rig?
Yes, border-stamping can be added to any rig for an additional cost of $30.00

Can I get a Kirkpatrick rig with a few modifications?
Yes, we can make custom changes to any of our rigs. However, the changes that can be made vary from rig to rig. For a rig with custom changes, please email Rachel at support@kirkpatrickleather.com. Once Rachel receives your request, she will check with Mike and/or Joe Kirkpatrick to see if the changes can be made.

PLEASE NOTE that rigs with custom changes are not eligible for a refund or for exchange.

What is your exchange policy?
The Kirkpatrick Family backs their products 100%. If upon receiving your rig, it is not what you though it would be, simply place the item back in the box and ship it back to Kirkpatrick Leather along with a short note requesting a refund. Once the returned item is received a refund will be issued (please note that shipping fees are non-refundable). Returns must be received within 10 of receipt.

If you paid with a credit card, a credit will be issued in 1-2 days. If you paid with a check or money order a company check will be mailed to you in 3-5 days.
*This policy does not apply to rigs, holster, belts, or accessories with custom changes.

What happens if I order the wrong size belt?
No problem! Simply send the belt back to Kirkpatrick Leather along with a short note with instructions as to how much larger or smaller the belt needs to be along with $10 for the return shipping fees and a new belt will be made up for you.
*This policy does not apply to rigs, holster, belts, or accessories with custom changes.

Can I return custom items?
Although we have a pretty liberal return policy, custom items will not be accepted for a exchange, refund or credit.
