Walther Arms History
Walther was founded in 1886 by a German army veteran named, Carl Walther. The small shop he established originally manufactured hunting and target rifles. It was not until 1908 that, with the help of his son Fritz Watler; they started manufacturing pistols. In 1915 Carl Walther died, leaving the company to his eldest son, Fritz Walther. The first PPK was made in 1931. The first mass-produced pistol was the walther PP models.
In 1938 the Nazi Government commissioned Walther to produce P38s as the new standared sidearm for the Wehrmacht (German Military). Fritz Walther was also ordered to suplly the Pilots and Nazi Party officials with PPs and PPKs. From 1942 until 1945 the company operated it’s own factory at the Neuengamme concentraion camp. The factory was eventually destoryed during World War II. In 1953 Fritz Walther started anew factory in West Germany producing the P38. The P38 became the sidearms for the Bundesweher (West German Army). In 1996 Fritz Walther died and left the company in the hands of his son, Karl-Heinz. Smith & Wesson company became the importer for Walther Firearms in the US, in 1999. PW Group took over distribution of Walther arms in the United states in 2012. Walther Arms is renowned in the firearms industry and continues to manufacture some of the best firearms today.
Most of our belt holsters for the Walther models have a slight FBI cant that helps narrow the profile of the gun. This makes it more concealable. For those individuals who spend a lot of time sitting or driving, the crossdraw holster is a great choice. We have a variety of styles to choose from.
We have been proudly making our custom holsters right here in the great state of Texas, since 1950. All our holsters are custom made from high quality American leather.
How our holsters are built
We start by cutting from the best part of the hide. We then hand dye the holster to ensure a rich deep color that will accent your firearm. All our holsters are sewn using seven cord bonded nylon thread and double stitched in all critical areas. Each holster is then hand molded for a perfect fit and contoured to the hip for comfort. The edges are then sanded and hand burnished to a smooth glossy finish. This helps prevent moisture from entering the edges of the leather. They are then polished and finished with a clear coating to protect the finish. Our concealed carry designs secure your firearm while still providing instant access when needed. Our holsters are built to last a lifetime.
