FAQs for Old West Rigs

If I choose expedited shipping (next day/2nd day) will my order be shipped the same day?
If the item is in stock, and the order is received before noon (CST), the order will be shipped the same day, the following day for orders received after 12 P.M.  If the item is not in stock our standard shipping time is 4-6 weeks from the day you place the order using the shipping method selected.  Upon receipt of the order we will advise you of the current shipping time frame.

Why does it take so long to ship an order?
When you take into account that we manufacture about 30 different style rigs, in 3 different colors and 3 different finishes combined with the many different handguns made and belt sizes, it is not feasible to keep an inventory on hand.  Therefore, when you place your order, your rig is created  specifically for you.
It does not actually take 4-6 weeks to create a rig, however, all items are made up in the order they are received.  Some days there may only be 10-15 orders ahead of yours, but on other days, there may be up to 50 rigs ahead of yours on the factory list.

Are any of your products stock items?
Yes, we do keep some items in stock.  For example, we usually have the rifle butt covers (for the Marlin 94, Winchester 73 & Stoeger Shotgun) in stock in the plain finish. We also stock the badge holders and reload straps, as well as the lever wraps.

How do I determine what belt size I should order?
Since everyone seems to wear their rig a bit differently, for the best fit, we ask that you submit two measurements.
The first measurement is your jean/pant size. For example, you can let us know that you wear a size 40 jean.   The second measurement is an actual measurement taken at the point where you like to wear your rig.

How do I determine the actual measurement?
To determine the actual measurement, wrap a tape measure around yourself as if it were the rig.  The tape measure should be snug enough that it does not slip off your sides, but not so tight that it digs into your clothing.  The tape measure should sort of just lie against your body.  NOTE…..In most cases, this measurement is 4-6 inches larger than your jean size.
*TIP– If you plan to wear your rig at your natural waist over a dress belt, you should take the measurement over your dress belt as it will affect the size.

What happens if I order the wrong size?
No problem, we will gladly exchange the belt for a different size as long as there were no custom changes made to the rig (see custom work policy).  Please note that there is a 25% restocking fee for belt sizes smaller than 36” and larger than 46”, so please be sure to double check the actual measurement as described above.
*This policy does not apply to rigs, holster, belts, or accessories with custom changes.

Do you make belt in larger sizes?
Yes, we will make belts up to size 60″. A $25 fee is added to the price of the belt for belts over 46″.

 What is your exchange policy?
For over 60 years we have hand crafted our holsters and belts one at a time.  We do not keep a larger inventory on hand.  In fact, most of our products are made to the specifications requested by the customer.  It is because of this manufacturing process that the following return guidelines must be adhered to:
Items must be returned in new and unused condition
Restocking fee may apply on certain items
Exchanges must be received within 20 days of receipt
Exchange policy does not include shipping fees
NO exchanges or refunds on items with custom changes
(see custom work policy)

Can I get a Kirkpatrick rig with a few modifications?
Yes, we can make custom changes to most of our holsters/rigs. However, the changes that can be made vary from holster to holster. For a holster with custom changes, please email or call Rachel at support@kirkpatrickleather.com or 956-723-6893.  Once Rachel receives your request, she will check with Mike and/or Jason Kirkpatrick to see if the changes can be made and get back to you with the additional fees and shipping time frame.
If you decide to place an order for one of our rigs with custom changes, we will email you a copy of the order for your review along with a copy of our custom work policy.  Once you receive the email, we ask that you review the order and custom work policy and reply via email as confirmation of the order specs and agreement to the custom work policy.  Your order will be processed once we receive your reply.  If you do not have access to email, we will gladly mail or fax you the information.

Can I return custom items?
Although we have a pretty liberal return policy, custom items WILL NOT be accepted for exchange, refund or credit.  Items with custom changes are considered FINAL sales and are not eligible for return, exchange or refund.  In addition, once the order has been processed, the order cannot be canceled.

Can I cancel my order?
Sure as long as your order has not been shipped we will gladly cancel it. Just send an email to support@kirkpatrickleather.com. If you do not receive a confirmation within 48 hours please contact us to make sure we received your request.
*This policy does not apply to rigs, holster, belts, or accessories with custom changes.
